Asymmetric Leather Skirt

We spent the 4th of July holiday out in Cape Cod; it was blissful. Green fields, the tide went out for miles, quaint towns and that seaside vibe I grew up with in Bournemouth.

I picked up this asymmetrical leather skirt from Nordstrom right before I left. It's one of those perfect day to night pieces - flats for day (like I did here) then throw on heels and a red lip and you're ready for cocktails.

Oh, and I cut my hair off a few weeks ago and feel like a new woman.

Skirt: ASTR
T-Shirt: H&M
Necklace: Local designer in Nashville who's name escapes me.
Clutch: Target

Road Trip - Part 2

P.J. Fogg is safely back in her new warehouse home and I've been busy sorting through all the great pieces I found on the road. I think I have about half the stock I need to open the mobile boutique so I'll be busy hunting for the rest of it here in AZ. Now comes the huge task of refurbishing the RV, building  racks and display cases, designing the logo and doing inventory. It will be no small fete but I plan to have her out on the road by October.
In the mean time, here's a little instagram recap of my travels.

From top to bottom: Kevin working on P.J. and little KY towns, lazy dogs and catching fireflies, making breakfasts and watching the sun set on the road, junk yards and barbecue, Four Roses distillery and fields of corn, Local Honey and cocktails in Nashville, vintage shopping and Truck in Nashville, my man at the wheel and family style southern food, St. Louis and more vintage shopping, breakfast and baseball.

MIA and FNO

I know I've been missing in action for the better part of August, I'm terribly sorry but I've been living the good life:

Sipping wine in Sonoma
(old Levis, F21 top and oxfords)

Beach weddings in San Francisco
(H&M leather jacket over maxi dress)

Cooking giant tapas feasts in San Clemente
(top: fennel, orange and sardine salad. Middle: patatas bravas, garlic and tomato rubbed toast, manchego with sherry syrup, shrimp in chipotle butter, crab stuffed pepperdews, melon and serrano. Bottom: fig and almond custard tart)

I'll make it up to you in September, starting out with a little Fashion Night Out fun... I'll be at Neiman Marcus tomorrow night for all sorts of fashion related fun including food by Modern Steak, a Fall fashion show at 6pm, DJ's and mini makeovers. I'll be at the Arizona Costume Institute table from 6-8pm.

San Clemente

A little visual diary of my week at the beach.

As you can see there was much eating and drinking. What you don't see, the yoga classes, the reading, the lying on the beach and the walks along the sea.
From top: San Clemente pier, radishes at the farmers market, the most unusual plant pot I've ever seen, morning ritual, sea bass and shrimp stew with cranberry beans and chili crema, drinks on the pier, tandoori ono with riata and yellow tomatoes, my gorgeous sis, the view, cocktail hour mojitos, chicken tacos with pickled onions, radishes and chipotle crema, Dani, sauvignon blanc with a view, fresh shrimp,  I did a lot of this, spaghetti carbonara with pea shoots.
