Mad Men

I went to a Mad Men party on Sunday and was faced with the conundrum of last minute 60's attire. Can you believe that my hoard like vintage collection contained nothing Mad Men-esque? Turns out I veer more towards the hippy end of the 60's and secretarial chic has alluded me. So, with only minutes to spare before my dear friend Megan picked me up, I threw this together.... a somewhat boho version of those oh so Mad Men.

Unexpected Pairings

I worked on a shoot yesterday that was all about separates. Now, I'm a separates kind of girl, there's so much potential to be creative the more garments you wear. I tend to fail miserably at mixing prints but pairing unexpected textures or pieces together, that I can do.

This skirt is so clingy that you can't eat for a week prior to wearing it. I've been sucking in all day and am likely to pass out soon. On that note I'm off to do some crunches.

Hot Stuff

It's an insane, dehumanizing 116 degrees this week. There are no fashion choices beyond my imperfect birthday suit that are even remotely alluring to me. And let's be honest, far too much of my vintage filled closet is made of sweat inducing, cheap-o,  man-made fabrics. So I blame the thermometer for my inappropriate work outfits and arse grazing fashion choices. Really, it can't be helped.

Summer Hair

My hair is probably the longest it's been in my adult life. I'm still getting to grips with styling it and I regularly have to dispose with the fancy shenanigans it takes to make it beautiful due to lack of time (that damn extra-cup-of-coffee-whilst-watching-Fresh-Prince-re-runs always makes me late to work)! So my new-to-me head scarf look is a real life saver on the mornings when I just have to have that extra jolt of caffeine and watch Carlton dance like a maniac.
